had been looking for a piece of ground for
several years to build what
would become our summer retirement home.
Yep...... a cabin in the woods - that was our dream.
We talked about it often - about what it might look like
and if it would ever really happen. I
found the web site for Rockwell Classic Cabins while
searching the internet and we added it to our list of
places to see on a Pennsylvania cabin site search in late summer
2004. Leslie showed us a few cabins
Don had built. It took
less than five minutes while
we were in the first cabin to realize our
pursuit had ended. We
talked with Don about what we had in mind and he creatively
designed the perfect floor plan.
We soon learned that Don knows cabins and that our dream
was in capable and
caring hands. From the orientation of the cabin on
the building site to the workmanship
and details of
the cabin itself we came to value his advice.
Leslie guided us through the buying process
and kept us 'in touch' by emailing pictures as
the building progressed. Our entire experience
with Don and Leslie was great from start to
finish. We became so comfortable with everyone that
we closed through the mail in a very painless and uneventful
transaction. Our dream became reality on May 23rd, 2006
when we stepped into Windsong for
the first time. Don had already placed a sign at
the entrance - "Windsong" for
the ever-changing sound
of the wind through the pines and hardwoods surrounding
it. There are some people in life that it's a joy to
deal with - Don, his wife Linda, and
Leslie are among them. If it's a cabin in the woods you're
dreaming about - be sure to take a look at these before you
